Get your gear ready, Houston! On Sunday, July 26, 2026, Sport Divers of Houston is heading south to Lake Jackson for a full day of freshwater exploration at Mammoth Lake.

Known as the largest scuba-dedicated lake in Texas, Mammoth Lake is a 65-acre underwater playground built by divers, for divers.

What Lies Beneath?

Mammoth Lake is famous for its "underwater scavenger hunt." With over 150 sunken objects to explore, you’ll never have the same dive twice. Highlights include:

• The C-130 Cargo Plane: Swim through the massive fuselage of this incredible aircraft.

• The World War II Submarine: A must-see for history buffs and wreck lovers.

• AstroWorld Relics: For a bit of Houston nostalgia, hunt for decommissioned rides from our favorite former theme park.

• The Giant Mammoth: Dive down to the life-sized sculpture marking the spot where actual Colombian Mammoth fossils were discovered!
