Open Water Diver
This globally-recognized certification program is the best way to begin your life-long adventure as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater. You will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.

Upgrade your training experience with a perfect match! The following programs can be combined with your SSI Open Water Diver training. Skills and experience are your tickets to dive the world’s best dive sites. When you complete a certain number of Specialty Programs and Logged Dives, you will also automatically earn the SSI Recognition Ratings – SSI Specialty Diver, SSI Advanced Open Water Diver and SSI Master Diver. Start your SSI Specialty training right away and earn recognition as you become a safe and comfortable driver!

Pre-requisite: SSI Account, ablity to swim 200 meters, and float for 10 minutes

Time: 2 Weekends
Minimum Age: 10
Academic Sessions: Online Program & 3-6 hours classroom
Pool/Confined Water Sessions: 2 days
Open Water Sessions: 2 days
Required gear for the course:
Mask, fins, and snorkel. Sport Divers will provide tanks, BCD, regulator, weights, and wetsuit if needed.
If you take the Computer Diving course while taking your Open Water, you will use one of our regulators that has a computer.
What course should I consider next?
We understand that “life” can happen at the drop of a hat, but if you need to reschedule a class, there will be a re-scheduling fee based on the course, training requirements, any pool fees, and instructor availability.
