Divemaster
The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey when your interest is to turn your passion into a profession by guiding certified divers, teaching Ecology programs, assisting instructors or even becoming an instructor yourself. Your next step is the Divemaster. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by taking the Divemaster program. Learn to safely lead certified divers in various environments and conditions. By giving dive briefings, doing site evaluations, and leading dives, you will become a confident Dive Guide in no time.
All you need to get started are 40 verified/logged dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 logged/verified dives experience in each area. Have the SSI certification or equivalent in Diver Stress & Rescue and current in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Oxygen Provider. You will be certified as a Dive Guide after successfully completing the Divemaster program.
Upgrade with a minimum of 60 logged/verified. Upgrade to Divemaster right away or any time after by self-studying the Science of Diving materials, passing the Digital Final Exam which makes you an SSI Professional.
The Dive Master Course requires you to complete the Science of Diving Specialty and the Professional Dive Guide Course.

Pre-requisite: SSI Account & SSI Level 4 or equivalent from a recognized training agency

Additional suggested courses:
Time: 4 Weekends
Minimum Age: 18
Academic Sessions: Online Program & 35 - 45 hours classroom
Pool/Confined Water Sessions: 2 days
Open Water Sessions: 4 days
Required gear for the course:
A complete Total Diving System: Personal gear - mask, fins, and snorkel. Diving System - BCD, Regulators, depth gauge or computer, weights, tanks, and wetsuit if needed. Diving System can be rented from Sport Divers. Personal gear can be purchased at Sport Divers if needed.
Special Equipment for the course:
Dive light, compass, and delayed surface marker buoy.
